To commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the death of the composer of the Swiss National hymn, a Mass was commissioned but was never completed.
The Swiss composer Hubert Spörri has recreated and supplemented the work with the few fragmentary existing notes for four voices. The version has been conceived in the spirit of P.Alberic Zwyssig, for organ and instrumental parts. Versions for mixed choirs, male choirs, female and youth choirs have also been created.
The world premier took place in the year 2004 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of P.Alberic Zwyssig.
